The UI/UX designer will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our various digital assets. They will ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design. The successful candidate will evidence a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX design problems by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.

This position reports directly to the Brand Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

  • Investigating user experience design using heatmaps, scroll maps, recordings, traffic analysis, and other available data connected with our digital proprieties
  • Makes use of available analytics tools to make data-driven decisions to improve overall user experience
  • Conducting user research to identify goals, needs, behaviors, and pain points involved in a JOM product interaction
  • Conducting market analysis to keep our digital design up-to-date and be able to innovate as our brandscape evolves
  • Participating as a member of a cross-functional team comprised of elements from Marketing, Technology, Design, and Ministry departments.
  • Producing high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes
  • Designing and standardizing UI elements and tools across multiple web properties, such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets, to create a unified component library
  • Testing UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages to validate design decisions and identify problems
  • Collaborating with the marketing team and internal and external designers to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the digital user
  • Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyze and predict user behavior
  • Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design
  • Other related duties as assigned

This will also include:

  • Regular attendance at Church services and classes,
  • Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
  • Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, mission, values, and core beliefs
  • Must be a team player and maintain a service-oriented attitude and a very high level of respect and honor for those in leadership
  • Inspire a positive creative culture with very high moral standards
  • Proven leadership qualities and successful history of managing a team
  • Proficiency with office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills, and friendly disposition
  • Able to give and receive constructive critique
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years UI/UX design experience for digital products or services
  • A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite
