Role Overview:

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll be the backbone of our maintenance efforts. Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, you'll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from routine building maintenance to troubleshooting and repairs. Your commitment to safety, efficiency, and a job well-done will directly contribute to the success of our ministry.

What You’ll Be Asked To Do:

- Perform diverse duties, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and vehicles, adhering to safety and maintenance schedules

- Conduct routine building maintenance tasks in various fields such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and more

- Maintain open communication with the Facilities Manager, reporting daily work schedule and progress

- Respond to and complete assigned work orders promptly and efficiently

- Inspect and diagnose functional systems, making recommendations for repairs and improvements

- Collaborate with outside vendors for equipment testing and services, while ensuring accurate record-keeping

- Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance tasks, meticulously documenting activities in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

- Service and maintain small appliances, and perform vehicle inspections

- Operate equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all standards and obtaining necessary certifications

What You Bring:

- A firm commitment to Lakewood Church's vision, values, and core beliefs

- Strong background in maintenance and familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools

- Proficiency in commercial building maintenance practices

- Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and proper lifting techniques

- Physical ability to carry up to 50 pounds over 100 paces without fatigue

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings for emergencies and special situations

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, for interactions with colleagues and the public

- Professional demeanor, work ethic, and appearance

Your Background Should Include:

- High School Diploma or GED

- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in general facilities maintenance
