JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
As an integral part of the team the Donor Relations Coordinator will assist in cultivating, stewarding and expanding relationships between Lakewood Church/Joel Osteen Ministries and its donors.
This position reports directly to the Director of Planned giving.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with internal departments to fulfill data and reporting requests, including the production of donor lists, regular progress reports and extractions of data for analytical purposes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor contact information
- Participate in development of best practices and documentation in maintaining accurate database records
- Assist in donor cultivation and stewardship events as needed
- Prepare planned giving proposals with basic financial calculations when needed, increase cultivation and stewardship, elevating personalized attention through calls, correspondence and possible visits. Partner with other staff in preparing same
- Identify, cultivate and steward an existing portfolio of major and planned gift prospects
- Assist in coordinating necessary logistics for planned giving presentations to Joel Osteen Ministries’ contributors at monthly events
- Assist in coordinating necessary logistics for planned giving presentations to Lakewood Church contributors
- Respond to planned giving inquiries from donors (phone, mail, email, etc.) regarding annuities, bequests, trusts and other types of planned gifts
- Coordinate the processing of any gifts with the finance department
- Obtain, maintain and track all planned gift documentation including wills, trusts, financial statements, designated beneficiary information for life, annuity, investment or retirement contracts, real estate deeds, personal property inventories, etc.
- Other related duties as assigned

- Regular attendance at Church services and classes,
- Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
- Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church
QUALIFICATIONS

- Proficient in using client management software such as MS 365 and advanced skills in data entry, extraction, and reporting
- Experience in maintaining accurate and up-to-date donor contact information is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for preparing donor correspondence, proposals, and responding to inquiries.
- Prior experience in coordinating events, particularly donor cultivation and stewardship events, is preferred. This includes logistics planning and execution for events related to planned presentations
- Familiarity with various planned giving instruments such as annuities, bequests, trusts, and other types of planned gifts. Ability to respond to donor inquiries regarding these giving options
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly disposition
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for tracking and maintaining all planned gift documentation, including legal documents, financial statements, and beneficiary information
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A degree in business administration, nonprofit management, communication, or a related fieldto ensure a solid foundation in the principles of donor relations and fundraising is preferred
- Proven experience of at a minimum of 2 years in donor relations, preferably within a nonprofit or religious organization, demonstrating the ability to cultivate and steward major and planned gift prospects
