JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Cash Receipts Representative performs basic accounting and clerical functions, including data record entry and communications related to the collection and reconciliation of revenue received by Lakewood Church and Joel Osteen Ministries. It requires familiarity with the operations and the objectives of internal reconciliation relative to Cash Receipts.

This position reports to the Cash Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

  • Reconciles cash receipts received in various forms of payments
  • Prepares cash deposits and arranges for deposits with our financial institutions per company policy
  • Compiles data, generates reports, and reviews distribution to management
  • Works with other members of the Accounting department to ensure that all cash deposits are accounted for and processed correctly
  • Prepares weekly deposits for armored services pick-up
  • Sorts through the mail and ensures all items are appropriately sent to the bank
  • Processes all bank-returned items & performs reconciliations
  • Other duties as assigned.

This will also include:

  • Regular attendance at Church services and classes,
  • Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
  • Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values, and core beliefs
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records
  • Ability to physically move throughout the building to collect drop box items
  • Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 20lbs regularly

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance or General Business or 1+ years of recent related experience in accounting or a related field is preferred
  • 1 year of prior experience with Finance & Operations is preferred
