JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Retail Sales Associate will work to provide customers with fast and friendly service while ensuring accuracy on all sales transactions. They will be responsible for customer checkout, store upkeep, re-stocking, and merchandising.

This position reports directly to the Retail Sales Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

• Provide an exceptional level of customer service when greeting and servicing customers
• Have a strong product knowledge to be able to answer customer questions effectively
• Operate and accurately balance a cash register
• Assist in cleaning and organizing the bookstore on a regular basis
• Replenish stock and merchandise floor displays upon request
• Receive and count shipments if needed
• Adhere to all bookstore processes and procedures
• Other related duties as assigned

This will also include:

• Regular attendance at Church services and classes,
• Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
• Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church

• Excellent interpersonal skills and friendly disposition
• Must be reliable and timely
• Must be willing to engage with customers
• Should have good attention to detail
• Must be able to work on Sundays
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma required
• Previous experience in a retail environment preferred
