Manager of Direct Connections

Manager of Direct Connections


Lakewood Church is looking for a passionate marketing professional to support our direct connections with our constituents. The Manager of Direct Connections is responsible for managing one-to-one relationships with our Joel Osteen Ministries audience and our local Lakewood Church members through the following platforms:

Direct Mail, Call Center, Congregational Connections and In-person event attendees; and Management of customer relationship marketing (CRM) efforts that involve the use of names database.

The Manager of Direct Connections reports to the Director of Marketing.

Essential Job Functions

Overview

  • Sets management objectives that ensure alignment with overall marketing goals set and approved by the Director of Marketing
  • Creates strategy for improving direct donor/follower communications as directed by the Director of Marketing
  • Responsible for retention communication strategies to nurture new contacts and deepen relationships with existing audiences alongside our vendors and other managers with the approval of the Director of Marketing
  • Participate in broader marketing meetings and strategy sessions as it correlates to Direct Mail, Call Center, and Email communications as directed by Director of Marketing
  • Other duties as assigned

Direct Mail

  • Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and alongside the Churchís direct mail agency manage the Joel Osteen Ministries and Lakewood Churchís direct mail life-cycle from inception through to thank you and gift acknowledgement
    • Provide quality assurance for direct mail products that move into production
    • Acquire all needed approvals for direct mail print production priorities throughout the creative routing process, including final approval on all artwork, formats, mock-ups and proofs
    • Work with the direct mail agency to help analyze past performance of mail campaigns to determine most effective strategies for the future under the direction of the Director of Marketing

Call Center

  • Under the direction of the Director of Marketing manage third party call center vendor to establish metrics to monitor and manage customer satisfaction, efficiency, and costs

o Manage call center programs including inbound and outbound programs

o Work with call center vendor to identify actions and initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, efficiency, or costs

o Making recommendations to the Director of Marketing about changes in the level or type of service provided by the vendor

Congregation Communications

  • Under the direction and approval of the Director of Marketing manage the marketing plans and communications as it relates to bulletins/collateral, emails and call center with the congregation and for other signature events at the church.

Qualifications

  • Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Churchís vision, mission, values, and core beliefs
  • Proficiency with office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills, and friendly disposition
  • Able to give and receive constructive critique
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and an attitude to solve problems and manage situations quickly and effectively

Education & Experience

  • Bachelorís degree, preferably in marketing or equivalent experience preferred
  • Third party management experience 2+ years preferred
  • Campaign management experience defining targeting strategies that drive results
